What are hookworms?

Hookworms are small, parasitic worms that live in the intestines of pets, especially dogs and cats.

How do they harm my pet?

They attach to the intestinal lining and feed on blood, which can cause serious health problems. Common symptoms include diarrhea, weight loss, pale gums, weakness, and in severe cases, life-threatening anemia—particularly in young puppies and kittens.

How can my pet get hookworms?

Pets become infected by ingesting larvae from contaminated soil, through skin penetration, or from a mother during nursing.

How do I treat my pet for hookworms?

Diagnosis is done through a faecal exam, and treatment involves deworming medications like Itch Wormer Tablets for Dogs and Itch Wormer Tablets for Cats. Preventive care, good hygiene, and regular vet checkups help protect pets from hookworm infections.
